Why Anime Sucks Nowadays?

Every season there are a ton of new anime series that come out, but I often find myself not wanting watch any of them.  Now and then, I go watch a few episodes of some of the more popular series, and I end up dropping most of them.  It almost seems like we are far away from the golden age of anime.

Here is another incoherent rant on why I think this is the case.

Why Statistics Lie

Let me clarify, statistics don't lie.  They are inherently misleading.  The reason... context.

Anime Review:Why Sword Art Online is Good

A while back I posted on a seasonal anime blog called Infinity and One (I was RightToLeft), where we discuss our thoughts on the anime in the coming seasons.  One thing that was always irked me is how people treat Sword Art Online (SAO) like it was the worst thing since Mars of Destruction.  However, I always gave it the benefit of the doubt.  So as a throwback to the good old days, I wanted to write about why I think SAO was actually good.

The Problem with T.V.

What's the sitch?

Let's say you are watching the next best thing since Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, or House of Cards.  You look forward to watching new episodes every week, and then suddenly one of two things happen: it gets the axe and we end up with a Firefly situation, or it goes on aimlessly trying to find itself.

This happens in almost every medium: movies, comics, books, manga, and T.V.  However, there has to be some reason that this isn't a solved problem.  We all get invested in these shows, but never really get the closure we want.

Tips for the beginning investor

A while ago, I started to get into the stock market game, and I am going to outline some tips that got me a substantial return on a small investment.  Don't take this as a game plan for how to guarantee a large return on your investment, but just my own personal thoughts on how I approach trading.

Should you use Angular 2?

A lot of people ask me two questions when I tell them I use Angular 2:
Should I learn it?
Should we adopt it?
Number 1 is more for the lone employee trying to expand his/her horizons. Number 2 is for the manager looking to start or upgrade an existing project.

Welcome to my blog!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for coming.  I am not sure what this blog really is or what it will become in the future, so please provide any feedback in a comment down below for what you would like me to talk about.

I am a programmer that works mainly on Angular 2 front-end, NodeJS/Sails backend with ties to SQL databases, and all neatly tied up into a some AWS infrastructure.  I am also familiar with Angular 1, Java Spring, Weblogic, CakePHP, Django, Python, C++, etc.  If you are interested in anything that I listed, and just want me to explain something, I am all for it.

The main purpose of this blog is for me to jot down what I am thinking at the time in digestible bites.  Hopefully, this makes me a bit smarter going forward, and solidify what I already know.  Ultimately, I expect this to unravel into some sort of brain dump that doesn't make any sense.

Cheers, Peter
